Like other Nio models, the ES7 features a recognizable in-house design, which makes it stand out in the crowd. This includes characteristic slim DRLs at the front, an aggressive silhouette, and eye-catching LED taillights at the back. As standard, the Nio ES7 comes with 20-inch tires, while those looking for a sportier ride might choose larger, 21-inch wheels.
Let’s get back briefly to those taillights, for which Nio is keen to emphasize how these have individually controlled crystal-cut LEDs, allowing some cool effects. For instance, when you lock the car, the taillights will gradually shut down towards the center, like a closing theater curtain. And they will do the opposite to welcome you when you unlock the car.
On the inside, Nio ES7 offers enough space to accommodate five adults, who will enjoy comfortable and heated seats upholstered in eco-leather. Furthermore, the shape of the front seats is fully adjustable thanks to Nio’s Air Cushion System, while those at the rear can be tilted to make journeys more comfortable. The interior is elegantly simplistic, without unnecessary knobs or buttons, and comes in Pamir Brown, Onyx Black or Edelweiss White color. And, by the way, no animals were harmed while upholstering this car – all leather is synthetic.
As a driver, you get an array of features that make every journey more relaxed and safer. ES7 has Nio’s Assisted and Intelligent Driving, which uses cameras and radars to gain perception of the car’s surroundings. All that data is analyzed by a powerful Adam computer, which uses advanced algorithms to keep an eye on any hazards and figure out the most efficient travel routes. This way, Nio ES7 becomes not only a cool car but also an extremely helpful co-pilot.
Nio likes to say their EVs are not just cars, but, instead, they are smart cars. Or to put it simply, you get an app for your smartphone with various helpful features. For instance, it keeps you updated with the latest news from Nio and allows you to chat with other Nio owners. In addition, you can book your car for service or look for available charging options while on the go.
On an everyday basis, the Nio App will quickly locate your car – which is helpful in big parking lots – and automatically unlock it as you get near it.
Charging time – which, without a doubt, is one of the most crucial factors for any EV owner – is something Nio ES7 excels at. With it, you get two options. One is DC charging, which charges up the battery to 80 percent in approximately 45 minutes. Or, you can leave it plugged into an AC outlet to get it charged overnight, which takes around 10 hours to fill up the battery.
First, the ride is stable and precise, thanks to lightweight Aluminum body construction, perfect weight distribution, and a capable all-wheel-drive system. Then, there is an army of driver aids, constantly monitoring the traffic up ahead and around the vehicle, alerting you about potential obstacles.
And, should you fail to react, the ES7 will apply powerful 4-piston Brembo calipers by itself and safely slow down. Lastly, if there is a crash, the car’s rigid structure and airbags will protect your passengers and you from injury.
How much duty you must pay for an electric car differs depending on the country and local regulations. But the good news is that most countries have low tax rates for zero-emission vehicles or don’t tax them at all. Even more, you can often get a hefty subsidy from the government for such cars, which makes them even cheaper.
The whole process can be summed up in eight stages.

On paper, the Nio ES7 – if fitted with the most powerful, 150 kWh battery – can go up to 930 kilometers on a single charge. However, this is not easy to achieve in real-life conditions, as factors like driving style and outside conditions can shorten this significantly. But if you drive moderately and harvest as much energy through recuperation, expect to get more than 800 kilometers from a single charge. And the cars with a standard 75 kWh battery have approximately half of that range at their disposal.
While this subject may be subjective and vary depending on the particular vehicle, Nio’s latest models have demonstrated exceptional built quality. As a premium car maker, Nio combines striking design and top-shelf materials with precise manufacturing procedures and scrupulous attention to detail. The result is cars that can go head to head with any of its renowned rivals, often giving much better value for money.

Further up is the optional 100 kWh battery, which increases the range to a maximum of 620 kilometers. And, at the top, there’s a 150 kWh Ultralong Range Battery pack, with which the ES7 may cover up to 900 kilometers. In addition, all batterie packs, regardless of their capacity, can be easily swapped in Nio’s Swap Stations.
