NIO ES8 comes in a choice of 7 rich colors inspired by the sky. The car’s larger dimensions also denote more comfort. The vehicle has unique exterior features like side view cameras, side mirror turn signals, and an invisible rear wiper.
ES8 also integrates Smart Matrix LED Headlights and LiDAR Smart Matrix LED technology in headlights for enhanced visibility. What else, you ask? Over 60 aerodynamic improvements deliver a low drag coefficient of 0.250.
Nio ES8 has a modular seat platform supporting various features and adjustments. The adjustments cater to diverse sitting positions and other comfort needs. NIO’s first and second-row seats have independently heated and ventilated cushion backrests.
ES8’s upper layer of the executive console has fast wireless charging for more than one phone. In contrast, the lower layer comprises an open space with an optional refrigerator to cool your drink. With one touch of a button, the second-row backrests will recline to give space for third-row access.
NIO ES8 has a full-stack NIO Assisted and Intelligent Driving capability. The system has localization, control strategy, perception algorithms, and platform software developed in-house. NIO Assisted and Intelligent Driving covers use cases of expressways, parking, urban areas, and battery swaps for a more relaxing intelligent driving experience.
Conversely, the watchtower sensor layout improves safety in complex road conditions. Seven 8 MP high-resolution cameras work with the sensor to see further with finer details. Four 3 MP light-sensitive surround-view cameras and one Advanced Driver Monitoring System are also part of the intelligent driving system.
NIO puts you as the top priority by giving you the best user experience. NIO App familiarizes you with the car and various systems. With the NIO App, you’ll stay up to date with the news shared by the company. You can also book the maintenance and share your experience with other users.
In addition to the NIO App, you’ll control and check the car location using your phone key. If you walk to your ES8 car, lights turn on, and door handles pop automatically. The door opens with a gentle touch on the handle.
NIO ES8’s charging time is impressive; it supports AC and DC charging.
Using a DC fast charger, ES8 will charge the 100 kWh battery from 10% to 80% in approximately 45 minutes. AC charging takes around 10 hours to get the battery to 100%.
The all-aluminum body and active safety features are the basis for the ES8’s exceptional safety. The car can drive safely in wet and snowy conditions. ES8 has 7 airbags: front, front center, side, rear, and head airbag system.
Additionally, it has one LIDAR, five mmWave radars, four 3MP surround view cameras, seven 8MP cameras, and twelve sensors. Other safety features include High Beam Control, Traffic Sign Recognition, Lane Change Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Fatigue Driving Monitoring, Blind Spot Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert with pedestrian and cyclist detection, and Side opening warning.
Since 2014, the Chinese Ministry of Finance has exempted tax on low-emission vehicles. This fiscal policy was enforced until December 2023 but extended to 2027.

The range is determined by the battery package you choose. With a 150kWh battery, you get a range of 900 km. A 100kWh battery supports a range of 605 km, while the lowest package, a 75kWh battery, will cover 465 km.
